I agree so hard. Like, Clark has probably never even thought in his wildest daydreams that Chloe would ever leave. (In "Legion" he was all YOU UR WRONG when they suggested that maybe history didn't know her for a reason*) Maybe he's been afraid that she'd get taken or killed, but not LEAVE VOLUNTARILY. So it's this huge shock and maybe what he needs to finally address his feelings towards her because she's just always been there in the background as someone to USE but never really give anything to.
Tangent: It reminds me of S6 "Crimson" when RedK!Clark teases Chloe about her constant pining and even though Clark doesn't believe it, Martha sees that maybe underneath it all, he really enjoys having Chloe always ready to be a safe option. It should probably say something about Jimmy/Chloe that Clark was never really this jealous of Jimmy. Maybe because Chloe would still be around.
But back to this scene: Originally, I kinda wanted Chloe to tell Clark about the prophecy of Davis killing him so he would understand a bit more. BUT THEN WE GOT JEALOUS!CLARK and it was better than I had hoped!
Chloe/Davis is just wrapped in so many issues and craziness and while they are superficially hot together, I think I'd rather see more road trip antics instead of emotionally confusing out-making with a dead Clark on a pole in the background.
*OMG, I'm SO AFRAID of Chloe!death foreshadowing. PLEASE DON'T KILL HER.
