First off? The Metric concert last night was AWESOME.

It was so awesomely awesome that the word awesome doesn't even do it justice. She is one crazy badass. She spent the ENTIRE set jumping around, rocking out and dancing around the stage. She must have been *exhausted* afterwards. She also spent much of the set talking about how Metric was a Canadian/American country of four and talking about spirits and nature. There were these gold tigers at the edge of the stage and she would go over and pet them. And talk randomly about nature and how "A cheeseburger seems so stupid when you compare it to a zebra!" LOL! Oh Emily Haines, you had me at the first crazy ass thing you said. You are my favorite.
Metric has been one of my top favorite bands for the last year or so but I never realized how amazing they were live. They played a bunch of songs off Fantasies and some older stuff too! I was so excited although I was really sad they didn't play anything off Grow Up and Blow Away. I really wanted to hear Soft Rock Star, it's probably my favorite Metric song. :) But seriously, if you have a chance to go see Metric live, DO IT. They are incredibly dynamic performers. Probably one of the best shows I've been too all year, if not period. Now I'm really sad that I didn't go to the show on Wednesday in NYC too. I would have totally gone to two in a row! They said last night was the last show of their US tour and that made me sad. I hope they come back soon!
The set list as I remember it:
Twilight Galaxy
Sick Muse
Help I'm Alive
Gimme Sympathy
Gun Gold Girls
Monster Hospital
Live It Out
Dead Disco
Satellite Mind
Stadium Love
Front Row
I'm sure there were some other songs from the earlier CDs that I'm forgetting too. I <3 Metric.
So as I've mentioned I'll be at the beach from Sun-Thurs. I'm just hoping it's not rainy and gross and miserable the ENTIRE time we're there. :( It looks like maybe Tuesday and Wednesday might be nice? Hopefully?! Urgh. Anyway, gotta go find my nautical themed pashmina afghan.

BRB I'M ON A BEACH!
So everyone feel free to spam the comments and leave me with awesome/weird/disturbing/amazing things to come back to when I get back from the beach. Most likely just as pale as when I left.

Although we actually did see some dolphins.
OMG Metric is AMAZING in concert. I came out of the concert loving them even MORE than I had before and they were one of my favorite bands. If they play around your area you should *def* go see them. Emily Haines is awesome.
SPAM ALERT. ALSO SV UPDATE.
In Smallville's continued demonstration of the fact that they HATE FREEDOM (namely, my own...it's not that I really was planning on freedom anyway, it's the PRINCIPLE of the thing, also their CAMPAIGN AGAINST FREEDOM is like, the Bizarro world version of Smallville since it is UNAMERICAN to be against freedom!)...
Guess why they named Zod "Mason" on the casting sheet.
NO REALLY.
GUESS WHO THEY CAST AS ZOD.
WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO MEEEEEEEEEE.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
OH GOD WHY DO THEY DO THIS TO ME?
.......OH MY GOD SMALLVILLE!! WHY? I mean, it wasn't like I was going to get out again anyway but still. I'm pretty sure that ship has sailed after I came back this season. At least there is sweet, sweet cancellation to look forward to. But it's the principal! I want to know that I have at least a *chance* of freedom. MASON WHY?!?
SMALLVILLE HATES US IT IS MORE OFFICALLY OFFICAL.
Also that picture of MasonZod is so great. Oh man, that's gonna be a hilarity goldmine all summer.

I couldn't remember which of Matsujun's coats it reminded me of! He has such a wide variety of vaguely shiny jackets. I really think that outfit is made ENTIRELY of things you could pull from Matsujun's wardrobe, just styled with more coherency. OTP FOREVEEER!
