Heh, it's like rich, shallow teenagers are the same everywhere! Oh wait... Anyway, I'll probably always like HYD better, if only because there's less sex and corruption or whatever. And when the Upper East Side kids are like "boo hoo, I have my trust fund but my life sucks and I'm SO ALONE" I have a harder time feeling sympathy. Why I'm able to feel this same sympathy for Domyoji is beyond me. And yeah, HYD started in 1990 or something, and aren't they still putting out mini spinoff stories? I know the series finished in, what, 2003? But with the movies and stuff, that's nearly 20 years of material, in three countries. It's definitely got way more longevity.

LOL! IMAGINE THAT!

Oh I totally agree, although I would love some Tsukasa/Tsukushi limo!sex. LOL! But really, taking out the sex really rackets up the UST and makes every little thing more romantic. Which is why the sunset kiss is still the most epic thing that ever epic'd. :P

Why I'm able to feel this same sympathy for Domyoji is beyond me.
Possibly this is because Domyouji has the mental age of a five year old? Whenever he's sad it's like looking at a kicked puppy. He just doesn't understand that normal people don't stalk their sort-of-girlfriends.

But with the movies and stuff, that's nearly 20 years of material, in three countries. It's definitely got way more longevity.
I still find it insane how long/prolific Hanadan is. It's all over the place. Obviously there's something sort of universal about the story that people respond to.

ALSO! Nodame icon = win!
